“Whist I have never been broken into before, you often hear about break-ins and I want to feel safe in my home. Being able to see who is at my door with the video doorbell and knowing I have video cameras inside and outside really helps,” says Maria.
We spoke to one of our happy customers Maria, about her MyPlace experience.
Maria moved into her new-build Floreat home in January 2023 and has installed a full suite of MyPlace smart products including security cameras and smart lighting inside and out; a MyPlace video doorbell with two-way intercom linked with her phone; a smart garage door control which integrates with her MyPlace video doorbell and cameras on her phone; and MyAir Smart air-con allowing her to control the airflow to any room using an app on her phone.
Maria used to live on a farm for 40 years and said she hardly needed to lock the door. Living in the Perth metropolitan area, security was important to her and the security system she had installed gives her peace of mind.
With the MyPlace security, Maria can manage her home’s security system from a single app on her phone, no matter where she is. She can access her cameras when she is not home – including her video doorbell. Maria can also open and close her garage door remotely as required – super handy for letting delivery drivers drop off parcels when she is out and about.

Maria said the individual temperature sensors and the ability to zone each room allows her to maintain an adequate temperature in a cost-efficient way, avoiding spikes in electricity which enables power to be sourced directly from solar panels.
In summer, the system means Maria can set the cooling early in the day whilst still using solar energy, which is often at its strongest when cooling is highest in demand. In winter the system allows her to warm up rooms at the south side of the house where it is quite cool.
“The service from MyPlace has been excellent. From the moment I walked into the MyPlace showroom the customer service has been outstanding. I would never have known how useful the temperature sensors are unless they had been suggested to me.
Maria can control her air conditioning system via the app on her phone from anywhere, which she says has been super handy when she is out and may have forgotten to turn the system on or off or wants to change the zones it is on in.
When we asked Maria what she likes most about her Smart Home, she said “I love that the MyPlace systems we have installed are available both on the tablet on the wall in the house and they are also available to me on my Android smartphone. The systems integrate very well with each other, making my life so easy.”
